PGlide
Lightweight PostgreSQL desktop client on a Rust/Tauri 2 core with a React 19 interface. Never pulls an entire relation to render the first page - pagination, sorting and filtering run server-side into a virtualized grid, so memory stays flat on multi-million-row tables. Direct, TLS and SSH-tunneled connections, a tabbed SQL editor, staged edits with explicit Apply / Commit / Rollback, and an optional on-device Gemma 4 model for offline SQL assistance.
My role
Pet project, solo end-to-end - architecture, Rust backend and React frontend. Open source, MIT.
- Rust/Tauri 2 backend over typed IPC: connections, TLS, SSH tunneling, transactions and exports
- Server-side pagination, sorting and filtering with a virtualized grid - constant memory on large tables
- Staged write layer: inserts / updates / deletes and CSV imports with undo-redo, explicit Apply → Commit / Rollback and conflict detection
- Tabbed SQL editor with validation, formatting, syntax highlighting and schema-aware autocomplete
- On-device Gemma 4 via LiteRT-LM with a RAM-aware memory budget - no query execution, no transaction control
- Cross-platform packaging: Windows NSIS installer and macOS Apple Silicon DMG
