Bitcoin Flow Indexer
Internal analytics platform for tracing Bitcoin fund flows. Decomposed Bitcoin's 1-to-many UTXO model into granular 1-to-1 transaction records, expanding ~500 GB of raw chain data into 2.5 TB+ of indexed, queryable data on a sharded MongoDB cluster (3 nodes: Bitcoin node + parser, plus two DB shards). Connected to Bitcoin Core via RPC for real-time chain sync. Built-in risk scoring engine uses blacklist databases to flag suspicious addresses. Web UI with D3.js graph visualizations lets investigators trace fund propagation paths.
My role
Solo engineer (end-to-end): data pipeline, backend, UI, and infrastructure.
- Built UTXO parser and Bitcoin Core RPC integration for real-time sync
- Designed sharded MongoDB storage (3-node cluster) and indexed 2.5 TB+ of queryable data
- Implemented blacklist-based risk scoring + investigator UI with D3 graph tracing - cut triage time by ~45%
- Owned VPS deployment, server configuration and monitoring
